Besides the fate of her kingdom, there’s also the issue of her love life. Wendy has a lot on her mind in this book, and while she’s struggling to balance it all, I found she was doing the best she could.

Wendy has stepped up to her role as future queen, and is trying to make her people’s lives better. If you haven't read one of Hocking's book yet, this is the series to start with. Hocking's world of the Trylle is part Grifter, part modern day fairy tale with characters that are very real. There's action, suspense, and even romance that are fast-paced in this very satisfying conclusion to one of my favorite paranormal series. No offense but the whole whiny heroine is getting kind of old. Got to love that! Also Wendy could very easily been whiny and sarcastic throughout the whole series but instead we catch glimpses of some of her vulnerabilities which strengthen her. There's twists and turns throughout that kept me on the edge. I loved the revelation on why she's so important.

Add to that the whole idea that a war is brewing and she has a big part of this. She's a natural storyteller and this series shows that! Let's just say I'm a huge fan of Hocking's books. And that's a good thing! If you enjoyed reading the first two books of the series, you'll enjoy this one!Īfter I read TORN, book two in the Trylle series, I was kind of worried what would happen in the final book. I'm glad the series is ended because I have been waiting awhile to read the ending. Hocking could have dove into that aspect a bit more, but hey, there's always spin offs right? I also found it interesting that in this book there are more 'tribes' of trolls, and I felt like Ms. I did enjoy how throughout the entire series, Wendy fights for justice and equality within the trylle people. I mean, trolls, come on! And I love reading how much Wendy grows and is able to incorporate her 'human' life with her true self and true life. It's so unique and different from what's out there right now. The story is just one that sticks with you. I still feel like the writing could be a bit more polished, and the story line could flow a little better, but like I mentioned earlier, that didn't stop me from reading all 3 books of the trilogy. That being said, I thought she ended the series well and I can be happy with how it ended. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I had really wanted the book to end a certain way and that didn't happen. I fell in love with the characters as soon as I started 'Switched' and was so excited to finish up the story.įirst of all, I was a bit disappointed with where Ms. I have been looking forward to reading and reviewing this book for awhile now.
