The way that it is presented is a sort of mix between The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson. This book is a great read, I really recommend reading it if you are 13+ and enjoy books that are full of action/fighting, backstabbing, mystery, love, and the idea of fictional “characters” coming alive and experiencing life as we know it.
